12 Weeks of Christmas….Week 2

Hahahahah!!! bet you thought I would forget???   I almost did!!! I have been a bit under the weather this last couple of weeks, a nasty bout of sinusitis seems to have settled first on my throat and now on my chest making me wheeze and need my inhaler a lot more than normal. I have a cunning plan though as I am determined NOT to be dogged by poor health this winter. I have started a morning routine of vitamins and minerals designed to boost my immunity and try and help me keep well this winter which is a really good idea since they are forecasting severe snow….and you all know how much I LOVE snow!!! I will not want to miss out on snowballing with my boys!

Ok, a few things to tell you tonight but will start with

WEEK 2 of 12 days of Christmas!

First the project….Golden Star

The plan with these makes is that I want everyone to feel that they can make them really and this one is so simple and straight forward – I used Raspberry Ripple card stock, the fabulous Gold card stock (see how that gold card positively lights the card up and shimmers beautifully!!! already one of my favourites!!!) Magical Season and Christmas Star stamps – did you know they can be purchased separately and not as part of a set? OH! Yes they can!!! – and gold embossing powder with Versamark and my heat gun. Now every single item, including the rhinestone gems – can be bought over at my online shop and when you do I will send you the instruction on how I made this lovely  Christmas card ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!  This is the link to the SHOP.

Here are a couple of close ups of that gorgeous stamp and Gold card stock….IMG_7254wtmk IMG_7253wtmk

Great News – 24 Hour 7 Days a weeks Shopping…..Great Offers …… Great Times….

I am running around gathering fruit up at the moment. Some of you may remember that we moved house just on Christmas last year. We inherited a lovely garden with lots of fabulous plants and some fruit trees in it: two apple trees, a plum tree and some black-currants. Well the birds have eaten most of the black-currants before we got a chance to pick them so I suspect there will be some netting going up next year! But the plums and the apples!!!! Wow!!! there are so many!!! I picked the first lot of plums last week and we had plum crumble for tea, but there were so many, I took some to both my neighbours, made another crumble and then two pots of plum jam!

Now it has been a few years since I last made jam….we wont speculate how many suffice to say it is definitely more than thirty!!! still, I thought, it would be a dreadful shame for all this fruit to go to waste, so I made 10 pots of apple jam/sauce too!!! and this weekend? We are making apple chutney.  It is very exciting, we bought this huge big jam pan, thermometer and jar grabber thingummy – for get the sterile jars out of the hot water!   This years Christmas gifts will mostly contain chutney and cheese – so sorry to spoil the surprise if you are normally on my present list!!!

Okay Ladies…Until next time, remember to stamp your place in the world! xxxx

Creative Lull….A Share….and EXCITEMENT about what’s coming….

I have been feeling a little crafted out lately…not sure if it is the weather – when it is warm I feel I should be in the garden and when it is hot and sunny I feel I should be lying in the sun soaking up all those vitamin D rays in preparedness for the winter months ahead of me. But either way I havent crafted much in the last two weeks – not like me I know as I usually try and do ‘something’ every day.  I need to pull my finger out!

The workshop last week was fantastic – if a little hot – our venue is at a local garden centre and below ground so very little blow through with wind !!! I wanted to thank all the ladies who were there for making it a fantastic, if eventful, day – THANK YOU!!!  I totally enjoy each and every one of you’s company – you make crafting fun!

First and foremost – Stampdelicious by Stamp – The projects are ready and I have two options for you……but first the projects….

IMG_0050wtmk

This time we are making ALL these! yep, all of them! including the delightful set of four at the front!  I think these were mostly designed or inspired by Dawn Griffith and you can link to her here. I love her projects!!!

So we will make all these and your two options are:

1. JUST the projects for our usual cost of £17.99 – usual Paypal button please….

2. ALL these projects plus the Chalk Talk stamp set to make them over and over your self, and a small heads up, as well as the Frame-lits which are already available to match up with this brilliant stamp set, there might very well be something coming to team up with it in the New Seasonal Mini..so UBER versatile!!!!    definitely an all season stamp set!   What is the cost of all these projects and the Stamp set? just a BARGAIN at £30! So don’t delay, get yours ordered today – use the Paypal button over there and guarantee your amazingly priced stamp set and projects.

Today I rolled out of bed to the sun splitting the trees and a woodpecker inside my head splitting my skull in two!  MB and I were out last night, now it’s not often that we go out and even rarer that we get to go out together! But last night I donned my glad rags and a pair of high heels, popped a couple of hairgrips in to keep the strands from wandering, slicked on the lippy and off we went! By one o’clock all I could think about was getting to my bed, via the bathroom and some sleep!  I had a great night out but my goodness, how on earth do those youngsters do it?   I stuck to the one type of drink – my tipple is vodka – as Everyone knows you shouldn’t mix your drinks, but I still managed to feel very poorly by the time we got home. A quick visit to the bathroom saw me reverse my consumption and I tumbled into bed.  Now I never give sympathy for self inflicted ‘poorly – ness’ and I honestly don’t expect to receive it, but it wasn’t all my fault. When I got up this morning I thought I felt okay, but ten minutes sitting nearly chatting with my dad saw me back in the bathroom saying hello to the china white God in there!!!   (AT this stage I apologise wholeheartedly to anyone who is no longer looking forward to reading this post but I have had a complaint from a regular reader that I had seemed to stop mentioning what happens in my real life as opposed to what happens in my crafting life!!!  I suspect she might be regretting that complaint round about now….!)

I eventually emerged and went to sit in the fresh air. As you know the weather has been fabulous lately but I felt so bad I got my big snow coat out and sat in the sun lounger in my snow coat – fresh air+cosy duvet like snow coat+sunshine and I felt I was on the way to recovery…at least sat there I didn’t have to move and I could feel sorry for myself. My balance appeared shot to pieces – that would be tottering around for six hours in high heels not the vodka cocktails!. MB made his appearance looking as fresh as a daisy. He duly asked me how I was feeling then expressed his surprise that I was even out of bed ‘…after all the DOUBLE vodka’s you consumed!’  Double vodka’s?????  yes he said, ‘they were almost as cheap as a single so it made sense’!  There is no wonder I felt so bad and there is absolutely no wonder there is an alcohol problem amongst our young people if a double is only pence more expensive than a single! I am grateful that I was out with MB who apparently was ‘only drinking pints so I knew exactly how much I had’ and who took me home. He says I walked all the way to the taxi rank and my youngest boy says he hadnt realised I was not sober when he spoke to me at 2.00 am….I actually don’t remember that…..enough of that, I will go back to soda water and lime where the worst that can happen to me is swallowing an ice cube mid slurp!

What do I have to share? I hear you shout….Well, very excited to offer a ribbon share! Stampin’ Up have brought out a fantastic range of colours in their beautiful Chevron Ribbon…this is a 3/4′ inch deep ribbon and wonderfully soft and I am offering you the chance to have a project (or two) size share of EVERY SINGLE COLOUR!!!!Share - Chevron Ribbonwtmk

Each share will get a yard of every colour so thats TWELVE yards of ribbon

and the cost of this lovely ribbon including postage is £10!

Each share needs ten people to make it work.

What colours are in this Chevron ribbon? loads – there are such beautiful colours – it’s hard to have a favourite! but at this time of the year I would have to say it has to be the Island Indigo and the Pumpkin Pie, although I always love Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz, actually it’s probably Smokey Slate and Blushing Bride….ooooH! I love them all to be honest! You can get your share by either emailing me at stampdelicious@gmail.com or using the wonderful PAYPAL button over on the side bar. The share will close Sunday 18th August and I will post the individual shares out after 21st August.

So….EXCITEMENT about whats coming soon ….and whilst I am excited that Peter Capaldi is going to be the next Dr. Who ( he is going to be fabulous and so handsome!!!! I won’t be sitting behind the sofa once he is on the TV!!!!) I am even MORE excited that the new Seasonal catalogue – Yep, the one with all the luscious Christmas stuff in it – is coming very soon!   29th August it launches and I am hoping to have a few catalogues available FREE TO A GOOD HOME during that last week of August. If you would like me to send you one of the fabulous Seasonal Ideas Book and Catalogues simply email me and I will post one out as soon as they become available!

And finally some pictures….IMG_2661wtmk

I made this Christmas wreath today – whilst feeling poorly – maybe I should feel poorly more often?!?!, I desperately wanted to craft today and not feel like the whole day was a wash out! It is old DSP as I wasn’t sure what it was going to turn out like but I am really pleased with it! It is on a styrofoam base and utilises a whole pile of spring pegs – yes the wooden ones!!! Here is a slightly closer look….

IMG_2663wtmk

Those are huge sparkles in the centre there and Raspberry Ripple Cardstock. So pleased with this!

Okay away to nurse my ‘poorly-ness’…until next time…remember to stamp your place in the world!!! xxxx

Oh! My! but it’s hot……

Goodness gracious me but where did that lovely weather come from?

I confess to spending lots of R+R sat in my lovely garden watching the weeds grow and enjoying the warm sun on my face….it seems so long since we have had sustained sunshine. Mind you, the last few days with the thunder and lightening have been interesting and unfortunately the driving rain seems to have lifted the flashing off my roof and we now have a small leak in our ‘library’.  We are not really posh enough to have a library really but we do have a space between our first floor landing and the bathroom which now houses all our book cases and books….so it could be a library…if you squint hard enough!!!

What do I have for you today my Lovelies?  Well a mixed bag really. The new Ideas Book and Catalogue is well and truly launched now and the first ‘new product’ workshops is this weekend. I have a terrific group of ladies who come to me for classes and I am looking forward to seeing them and chatting with them all this weekend.

Have you got your new Ideas Book and Catalogue? If not you can order one by using that PayPal button over there and I will get one out to you in the post ASAP!

If any of you have noticed that there are no ‘Seasonal’ items in the Ideas Book and Catalogue…well spotted….but there is a good reason, no a terrific reason for that and that is that coming 1st September we have the arrival of the New Seasonal Mini!!! I am so excited as I have seen it and I know there are loads of fantastic new products coming our way! I cannot wait!   WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

Ok…do I have any pics for you this time?   hhhmmmm…. This first is a card I made for one of MB friends – he is a keen sailor and owns a boat that he sails on the broads – we keep meaning to go visit…First of all I made a masking area – or rather I cut a shape out of a pice of card – and taped it to my work board with my card stock underneath. Then I lightly sponged the background colours in. Lastly I added the yacht. Add in some matting and layering and Hey Presto a masculine card!

IMG_2523wtmk

I loved the simplicity of this so much I did another….IMG_2524wtmk

Next I have something that I spotted on someones blog when I was trawling for ideas. I apologise as I cannot remember where I saw this – if it was you please email me so I can give due credit. IMG_2561wtmk

The flowers are made with some old newsprint DSP punched with Mixed Bunch flower punch and the edges are sponged with the new In-Colours. I wrapped the polystyrene wreath in the same DSP cut into 2inch strips and soaked in rice water. I left it to dry overnight and simply added the ribbon with my hot glue gun and the flowers came next. This next project is something I made this last week……I needed to ‘just make’. I had seen this made before and was wanting to give it a go and I am delighted with the end result. I cannot wait for the new Season papers to come in from Stampin Up because I want to make this in Christmas Paper – I think it might look amazing!

Flowers a plenty….

Hello there…

Yes back again – and this time the challenge is Flowers – Now, I often pop flowers onto my cards – sometimes made myself but most often made by someone else and bought in packets.   And I love to see flowers, mostly in the garden but occasionally in the house….Now what I didnt know was that you are not allowed to take flowers into hospitals any more which I was pretty surprised at when I wanted to take flowers to my Mother in Law when she had a heart op over in Newcastle.

Here is my solution…..image0282

I made this bouquet by sello-taping some 2p coins round a block of flower oasis. I then placed the oasis into a box I made with cardstock, I was then able to push my paper flower stems into the oasis and know they would not tipple over. The Flowers themselves are a variety of die cut pieces using various K&Co papers – I love K&Co papers, they are always so lush and the colours so pure – I edge every flower with tone on tone ink and a dauber then glittered every one with Glamour dust (A girl can never have too much glamour dust!). The flowers are attached to wooden dowling painted green and have leaves attached and then built up into a bouquet. I finally took sheets of tissue paper and wrapped them round the box and secured with a ribbon – cant see it but it is definitely there!image0283

In this picture you can see the butterfly’s on dowling with bits of card stock which I ran over the edge of a pair of scissors to make the strip curl. My Mum in Law had these flowers at her bedside instead of real ones and I must say they did cheer the room up alot.

I hope you like them and if you fancy having a go your self, the girls over at That Craft Place will help you choose all the elements you need to create your own bouquet…..give them a shout an then enter your creation into our challenge  – I look forward to seeing your entry!

Until next time….remember to stamp your place in the world. xxx
