And finally….It has been one of those weeks. Not my best I can assure you, hence the slow showing of our Sale – a – Bration ideas this week. Cant really put my finger on what is not feeling right for me but having a head cold hasn’t helped me think it through. I have a huge amount to be grateful for, my family are all healthy and busy with their lives, my BH is in a good job and my sons are working towards end of year exams, we certainly have things alot easier than many folks. But still, I have had a couple of down days. Probably the weather which has been pretty miserable so far this year and the lovely spring blooms which generally cheer me up no end have not yet peeked their heads out. So my challenge to myself before my next post is to create some lovely cheering blooms cards to brighten my craft room on these still dark and miserable days! Roll on the brighter weather and look out for those cheering blooms!
So till next time…remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Whoops – nearly missed it! Week two….Technique Tornado Day….and my excuse!

Whoops! nearly missed week two of Sale a Bration!  Please accept my apologies but I do have a really good excuse – Honest. But before my excuses here is the promised Sale a Bration offering –

Elementary Elegance

This is a lovely spring card with the delightful Elementary Elegance stamp set from the Sale a Bration mini!  Here I have teamed Sahara Sand Card stock with Baja breeze ribbon and ink and So Saffron ink and card stock with a little Whisper White card stock and ink thrown in for good measure!   The stamp sets in the Sale a Bration are so versatile – I have made this a Birthday card but it could so easily be a Mothers Day Card.

We have the first of the Technique Tornado days coming up this weekend – 11th February at Table Table starting at 10.00 am sharp – we have loads to get through! – cost is £25 for the full day and is a technique packed adventure!  This time we are having a spring theme with a nod to Valentines Day and Mothers Day.  If you want to join us I still have two places left and would be delighted to see you!  Use the PayPal link up on the top right hand side and get your place saved – First Come First Served!

So my excuse…unfortunately, my youngest son was rushed into hospital on Wednesday night/Thursday morning with a temperature just short of 104 degrees – for those of you who do metric….it was pretty high! He was admitted from the GP unit at 2.30am and the poor wee soul was allowed to go home to Mum’s care yesterday afternoon. The hospital was able to give me no real idea of what was ailing him but he has come home on two lots of antibiotic and two lots of pain killers which all nod towards severe tonsillitis or strep throat as it was called in my day! I am hoping that it is an isolated event as he is just getting into exams. He is still feeling sorry for himself but is definitely on the mend as he is starting to give me cheek already!

Until next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Ok lets look at some new products –

Halloween Candy Wrapper Box

Candy Wrapper Box

So this fantastic box and card set was created by the Lovely Kirsteen for the Tartan Stampers Mini convention and you can view more from Kirsteen by clicking her name. I loved this so much I did tell Kirsteen I would probably end up stalking her! Oh! Dear! This is made with the NEW Candy Wrapper die from Sizzix (yes you can get it right in your Ideas Book and Catalogue!) and is teamed with the creepily delightful Frightful Sight DSP. This is going to end up as a class piece I fear as I just love it to pieces, I never thought much to the Owl Builder Punch set until I saw it in this and Yes that is the Build a blossom petal used to create that lil’ ol Devil!

Delicate Doilies

This is another ‘make’ from the Tartan Stampers – this time Jen from Stampin Glitz who made this superb Clean and Simple card using the delightful Delicate Doilies stamp set and the very versatile Lace Ribbon Border – Yes! both new! Here Jen has teamed them with Basic Black CS, ink and ribbon and Melon Mambo CS.

Forever Young Timeless Portrait

This is the Timeless Portrait product suite (new phrase? more on that later) This lovely card was made by Dawn Silver  who heads up the Tartan Stampers. She has used the Brand New Timeless Portrait DSP, First Edition DSP, Basic Black CS and Satin Ribbon, then Dawn has embossed the Forever Young Stamp in black (yes we do Black embossing powder – Who Knew?!) And it is finished with the Lace Ribbon Border punch – did I mention how versatile that is?

Ok, a few more cards later! Why has it taken me so long to post? Well, funny you should ask! Firstly I attended the Tartan Stampers Mini convention here in Glasgow. Around twenty seven of us got together for a whole weekend of crafting fun! The weekend started with a meal out then on the Saturday we did a shoebox swap (I will show you mine in a later post) where we all design a project and then pop enough product in a box for the other 26 girls to make one each! So much fun and a great way to quickly learn new techniques or try new and different products! Another meal out on the Saturday night then on Sunday we got down and dirty with some scrap book pages and a fabulous mini album complete with pin wheels and pop ups! And I never noticed the weather until My Beloved came and collected me, tired and crafted out!

Following that much fun it was back to work and time to get my eldest son back to University. What a nightmare that has turned out to be!  This is his second year so he comes out of halls of residence and into private accommodation. On the thursday before his return one of the boys who had already moved in sent pictures of my sons room…complete with Gas water boiler and electric fuse box resplendent with wirework! Alarm bells started to go off….they haven’t stopped yet! When we finally got there on the Saturday the whole place was disgustingly dirty. My son’s room was worse than I had possibly imagined and came complete with four damp walls (I must mention that the temperature in Durham was 26 degrees and the walls were running with water! So I dare NOT imagine what it would be like in the dead of winter like the ones we have had recently!) mouse dropping, mouse dinner crumbs, mouse wee, a mattress that was crawling and a fire window that was jammed shut! Then I got a longer look at the rest of the flat. The kitchen took me more than three hours to clean and disinfect the cupboards, work surfaces and disinfect the pots and cutlery so that I could feel comfortable having a cup of tea! The bathrooms enjoyed a very liberal sprinkle of Domestos before I even thought about starting in them. I cannot express how awful this place is. I would like to say that we are NOT paying an awful in rent but we are! a huge amount! I would like to say that the Landlords are mortified that the property is in this awful state…but they are not. the claim that is has been professionally cleaned…mind you they did not say that it was cleaned in the last fifteen years!  As any parent would, we have insisted that he not stay there and have sought help from the University to help get alternative temporary accommodation for our son until we can sort something more permanent.   What I find the most awful is peoples attitudes toward student accommodation. They seem to think that standards don’t apply because it is students that will be living in these flats. I realise that students are a pain in the back side and often have no care for the properties they are staying in. But that is not all students just a few and it is usually the parents who are paying for the accommodation that our children are staying in. It is heartbreaking to consider leaving your child in such dismal and appalling conditions voluntarily! If we were finding people living in these conditions who were socially challenged and poor there would be total outrage! why then are students expected to put up with these conditions JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE STUDENTS?  soap box done with…for now!

On a lighter note…This coming Saturday is our October Technique Tornado day! Have you booked your place? if not head on up to the link on the right and get booked in – we have loads of fun lined up and a guest designer too!  It is first come first served so don’t delay book today!  And then on 12th November we have our Christmas Stamp a Stack Day – we will make five designs of card four times = twenty cards in total and a special make in the middle of the day! Book your place now as there are very few places left – it is proving to be a really popular event!

Finally a couple of cards featuring another new product….Pennant Parade!

Pennant Parade

I made these very simple little cards using the now retired Jolly Holiday DSP and the very New Pennant Parade Stamp set and Punch. I stamped the Pennant shape three times using Old Olive on Whisper White CS and punched it out before adhering the Pennants together. I stamped the tree pot and Star the added the ‘tree’ to the space in between (of course I measured it – doesn’t it look pretty perfect!!!!) I then layered this onto the DSP, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Card stock and Voila! and super little Christmas card you can get the kids to help make!

Until next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

A Retirement Update….Excitement….and The Next Big Thing!

I cannot believe that we are already half way through September!  Mind it has been a very busy month so far and only going to get busier but more about that in a minute. WHATS GOING ON WITH RETIREMENT PRODUCTS LORRAINE?  I hear you ask, well good that you did because we are running out of stuff rapidly! I am popping the link HERE for you to go directly to the Retirement list. But here are a couple of things I am really sad to see go:

Spiral Border Punch, Baby Blossoms, Springtime Vintage DSP

Firstly we have the versatile and extremely useful Spiral Border Punch which I have used to cover the, also retiring, On Board journal. I use this punch for loads of things including covering books for my son for school! Next are the lovely Baby Blossoms stamp set which is retiring when the mini leaves us at the end of September too! and the Spring TIme Vintage paper. More versatile products which can be dressed down for a very vintage feel or dressed up for a much more modern but slightly retro effect.

Bella Toile

I only found this stamp after being on Jenny Moors blog – this is a CASE of one of her lovely cards. I fell in love with this immediately and can still see so many uses for it so am very sorry to see Bella Toile departing. If you want these products you need to get in touch with me pretty fast as they will only be available for another 11 days! After that they will NEVER BE AVAILABLE AGAIN!  so don’t be disappointed, get in touch now on stampdelicious@gmail.com and place your order before it is too late!

Now I have to tell you, I am pretty excited! This coming weekend I am going into Glasgow to spend the whole weekend – from Friday night until Sunday tea time – with a group of lovely girls from across the whole of Scotland – The Tartan Stampers! We are going for a meal on Friday night then spending the whole of Saturday and Sunday crafting, stamping and chatting!!! And generally having a great time! I cannot wait. I will be with a group of very talented and lovely people, we will be sharing our tips and tricks, I suspect there will be chocolate passed around! and I will hopefully have loads of brilliant makes to show you next week.  Is this your cup of tea? Wish it was you too?  Well next time it could be! I have a space for one person to join my team – The Stamp Delicious Gals – and next time you too could be having a terrific crafting weekend! Drop me an email and we can chat more about how you could be earning a little extra pocket money for your self whilst doing something you love (Let’s face it, you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t love crafting and stamping, now would you?).

The Technique Tornado Days have been a tremendous amount of fun and the girls who have attended have asked for more. Who am I to turn them down? Heavens! I have had loads of fun getting the techniques together and teaching them – this last weekend we got down and dirty with shaving foam, baby wipes and loads of paper tissues! Not quite sure what will top that but I will need to come up with something pretty fast as the next Technique Tornado Day looks set for Saturday 8th October with a possible follow up – depending on demand – the following week of the 15th October, they will be at the Campanile Hotel again – great venue, loads of car parking and a FREE Bus service from Braehead Bus Station too! What more could we want? Wanna Come? thought you might – head on up to the top of the page there and get your place booked! FIRST COME FIRST SERVED!  I have limited places so if you want to come and your friend want to come too then get your places booked NOW! or you could end up missing out!

On top of this – Our Christmas Stamp a Stack is filling up rapidly – I can only take around twelve people for this! Again at the Campanile, it is on Saturday 12th November, 10.00 am – 4.30pm and costs £25.00. You can book your place at the top of the page – again FIRST COME FIRST SERVED! I know you don’t want to miss out so book your place today!

So girls, until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

MIA….and something’s to share

Apologies to begin with. I am afraid I managed to pick up a really nasty cold which settled in my throat giving me laryngitis and now my chest. I have had six days of feeling particularly horrid! So please accept my apologies for being Missing In Action. I suspect a dose of antibiotics is now on the cards.

So what do I need to share? well lots actually. Lets look at the Retirement list. The Retirement List can be accessed by clicking HERE. PLEASE NOTE – there are quite a few things that are no longer available. So if there is something that you are thinking of buying but thought you would wait – please don’t – you might very well be disappointed! Send me your list of items and I will get that order placed for you as quickly as I can. Include a telephone number so I can call you for your payment details.

The new Ideas Book and Catalogue will be available from 1st October and will be viewable right here on this blog from then too. However, if you are in my Stamp Clubs or my Ribbon share your brand new Ideas Book and Catalogue will be on its way to you in the post if you haven’t received it already.  Don’t want to wait? Want one of your very own? Well you can purchase one direct from me. Just hit the link over there on the right hand side and I will get one out to you as quickly as I can. You can begin your wish list and then come 1st October you can share your list with me. You might also want to consider being in one of the Stamp Clubs so that when it is your turn to be hostess you can take advantage of the amazing and wonderful new Stamp sets available to Hostesses all for FREE! Want to know more? Drop me an email and I will get back to you.

Okay, something to share.

Vintage Vogue

This was a card that I made when my crafting pals came round last week. This is made with Vintage Vogue – a favourite stamp set of mine and one that I have used lots – it also features French Foliage – another favourite of mine and one that is from the mini which goes off sale at the end of this month. The colours used are Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze, I also used my current favourite tool: my Distressing tools. The card is finished with some pearls but I haven’t placed a sentiment on it yet as I want to save it until I need it.

Serene Snowflakes

This is a card we are using for Technique Tornado Day. It is made using the Shaving Foam technique and I used a couple of new colours that are coming: Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party as well as another favourite of mine Pacific Point. The card stock is Pacific Point and embossed with White Craft and finished with a few rhinestones.  I also finished the card inside by embossing the edges too.

Serene Snowflakes

And finally – Technique Tornado Day!!! Yippee! this is coming up on 17th September. We have had lots of fun with these days so far and I think this one will be no different. We will be working towards a finished project and this time it is not a card but it will feature any techniques that you want to use and have learned so far. Want to join us?  Use the button over there on the right and book your place – you are welcome to join us!

Right Ho! need to go complete some stuff now so will ask you to remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx  PS…forgot to mention – coming 1st October  – Frequent Stamper Miles – Want to know more? Want to know how it benefits YOU? Email me now! xxx
