And we are off…..Date for your diary…PARTY PARTY PARTY ….and finally moved!

So we started our classes back up today – We are at the Campanile Hotel near Braehead and do you know what? They provide a FREE bus service between Braehead bus station and the hotel and back again!  How cool is that?  I was amazed by that – you don’t get something for nothing these days but apparently you CAN get a free bus service!

It was so lovely to see the girls again for our class. Thank you Tracey for the chocolate – you are a star as always! We had fun with today’s techniques – both resist techniques, one with masking fluid and one with wax crayon – everyone was reminiscing about school after smelling the masking fluid which was really strange – it has a funny kind of fishy glue smell which I suppose is exactly what the glue smelt like when we were at school! anyway – it was fun and brought back memories too! Here’s what we made:

Baroque Motifs - Resist Technique

This was the card made with masking fluid- the girls were a lot more artistic with their application of fluid  than me!

Penny Black Rose Heart

This lovely rose card was the one we used the wax crayon technique on – scratching off the wax where we wanted highlights to show through .

So on 3rd September we will be  holding our RETIRAL LIST party!  Yippee! this is to celebrate and say good bye to items that are leaving the Stamping Up catalogue FOR GOOD!  The party is from 1.30 – 3.30 ish at the Campanile hotel and costs £3.00. We will be doing make and takes and generally having a crafting good time! Yes I will be putting a PayPal button up in the next couple of days so you can pay before you arrive and beat the rush!  Remember to add your postal address so I can get your ticket out to you!

This next card is my offering for our Tartan Stampers challenge – the challenge was to use double embossing. The card is made using whisper white and Pear Pizazz card stock, Pear Pizazz ink, pearls, Sizzix Embossing folder, border punch and the Flight of the Butterfly and Just Believe stamp sets.

Just Believe

This final card is the one I have  made for my dad to send out to people to let them know where he has moved to. It is a single layer card and took minutes to make – I think it has turned out pretty well!

Moving House

I printed up inserts to save him writing all the details out a dozen times! I think he is nearly unpacked – we had a trip to Ikea yesterday to get another chest of drawers for his things and he has decided he wants a new computer now as well so another shopping trip on the horizon!

Okay – I think that is it for now – Don’t forget the classes – we still have a some spaces and you would be more than welcome! Pop me an email over for more details. So until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

It’s Getting Hot in Here….Moving House….

Okay Ladies, so have you booked your place at Simply Stamping class yet? things are a slightly different this time around as we are at a different venue and will be taking our techniques a few steps further.  Not booked in? don’t wait around as we don’t have as many class places as last time and it would be a shame to miss out.

Sooooo! I did say it’s getting hot in here but actually I think it’s getting cooler (it’s definitely wetter! has it stopped raining here for long?) and when it gets cooler my thoughts most definitely turn towards Christmas Cards – so here’s one I made earlier!

Christmas Trees

I love this card – It appeals to my sense of simple! We have Pacific Point, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The whisper white is stamped with Lovely as a Tree stamp set, the run through the Sizzix Bigz Top Note die cutter before being brayered with Pacific Point. I then used a White pen to outline the top and copious amounts of glitter for the Trees. A couple of rhinestones at each corner finished it off.

Contempo Christmas

Another very simple card if you have a stack to make (Hint, Hint!) This is Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holiday DSP, Contempo Christmas stamp set, Oval punch, and the decorative label punch and finished with some pearls.

Contempo Christmas

Do they get any simpler than this?  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holiday DSP, Contempo Christmas stamp set, Oval punch, and the decorative label punch and finished with rhinestones – does that have a familiar ring to it?

So Friday will see my dad coming to live with us. I know I have mentioned before about this – we went down to see him this last weekend and help him finish up his packing. The removal men arrive tomorrow to start taking some of his things into storage – pending us selling our house for something a touch bigger to accommodate him and potentially give him a sitting room as well as a bedroom. He lived with my Mum in that house for 33 years and then another two on his own so it’s a big step for him to move away. we are al  looking forward to him coming to bee with us as it means we know he won’t be on his own for another winter and it also means there is someone in the house for my youngest when he gets in from school which is some thing he has found particularly difficult. These times, they are a changing’.

While I was down at my Dad’s I headed on in to see my friend Tracey at Running with Scissors. I participate in her ATC swap group. All I have to do is create six ATC’s and then send five of them out to her. In return I get five back that have been made by other ladies int he ATC group. What are ATC’s? they are a 3 1/2′ x 2 1/2′ representation of your talent! Tracey sets a theme and we work to that theme. Last month the colour was yellow and the theme was circles this month it is black and white and ‘dreams’. Fancy having a go? thought you might – head on over to  Tracey’s blog HERE and get yourself signed in. Its great fun, I feel sure that you will enjoy taking part – the best bit is waiting for your ATC’s to arrive in the post!

Finally a quick reminder of the details for the classes – If you haven’t yet booked and still want a place – head onus to the top of the blog and there on the right hand side you will see the PayPal button, go ahead and press it and pay for your class.

Step away from the Shimmer Paint! ….Something for FREE!

So when my latest box of goodie arrived from Stampin’ Up last week, I had ordered a couple of things I had never used before – one of which was the Champagne Shimmer Paint.  I love it!  I love it not just on my projects but on my fingers too! It leaves a kind of see through soft glory sparkle! Anyway! Coming from a household chock full of boys is it really any wonder that I love there terribly girly stuff like shimmer paint and Glamour Dust? Here are a couple of things I made (but I suspect there will be lots more to come!)

Baroque Motif Butterflies

Every thing in this card is either Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake or Early Espresso – except for the Champagne shimmer paint! Oh and the Pearls! I used the Baroque Motif stamp set, and the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies cutter.

Baroque Motif Flowers

This one is for my entry to our challenge – use three blues and a technique! I chose the wax resist method. Here I used Bashfull Blue, Marina Mist and Night of Navy. I also used the Baroque Motif stamp set (again!) but used a white wax crayon to add resist areas where I didn’t want the ink from my brayer to stay. You will be shocked to note that I also used Champagne Shimmer paint (again!) and a few pearls to finish.

Want something for free! YES I did say FREE!  Okay, so if you spend £75 in any single order, or hold a party where your combined guest order totals £250 you will receive (as well as the usual perks!) this beautiful set. And it is beautiful – I have one! and I think it is gorgeous – No I didn’t spend £75 on Shimmer paint! But you would be forgiven for thinking so!  Give me a call, drop me an email or send me a text but what ever you do, don’t miss out on this amazing offer!  Contact details HERE!

Rich Razzleberry gift

And finally, a little Christmas trial – I wanted to make a Christmas card suitable for my youngest son that doesn’t take an age to make so I can easily make lots and would be suitable for him to give to his pals. This is what I came up with – it needs tweaking but essentially I think it is about there – he loves it anyway!

Contempo Christmas simply made

This card is made with Very Vanilla, stamped in Old Olive and using the Contempo Christmas and Heard from the Heart stamp sets. I then used a bit of post it note to roughly draw a star, cut the star our and used it to mask out the star area while I buffed some Real Red through some sequin foil, then used it as a reverse mask so I could buff some So Saffron into the star shape. I used Old Olive marker pen to draw the squiggle lines around the whole. I think it took me about ten minutes but my son loves it and wants all his Christmas cards this year like this – suits me!

Until next time, don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Wow! What a day!….a little VSN YeeHaw!…. Something New….what Lorraine is doing next….

Good Evening Girls!  I have so much to share with you I hardly know where to start! but I think the best place is with a few pics – these are from the AMAZING day a the Campanile Hotel where I held my very first Stampin’ Up Mid Summer Stamp Camp!  And what a day it was! Lots of lovely ladies turned up and we had a full day crafting and stamping…And they got to take the stamp set we featured home with them too! How Cool!

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday - Jen doing her thing!

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday - all together now!

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday

So the ladies made 7/8 cards, a scrap book page and a 3d project! We had coffee, tea and pastries and home made tablet (thank you very much Gillian!) and lots other chocolatey goodies (thank you Tracey and Theresa!) Am I going to show you what we made? NO! not yet because we are doing it all again tomorrow!

So as many of you know I follow Splitcoast Stampers, this weekend was Virtual Stamp Night Rodeo theme! I love taking part in these – my crafting and creativity usually goes skywards, I don’t know whether it is because you get a theme and loose direction or whether it is because you only have 45 minutes to complete the task! But what ever it is my creativity increases and I always love the things I make under this self inflicted pressure. I only managed two creations out of six this weekend but I am marking my diary for the next one which is the end of August!

Rodeo VSN - Grand Entrance

Everything I used in the two cards came from my scrap box so I have no idea’s about what products have been used. There is most definitely some Stampin’ Up card stock in there and I used my Nestabilities die cutters too.

VSN Rodeo - Sequins

In this card we had to use sequins which stumped me a little! I wasn’t sure I even had any! anyway I did have this delightful cowboy stamp from Moorhead stamps, I just paper pieced it in girly colours, and had drew some longer hair to make it a little more girly. The background is brayered (still needs practice!) the fence and grass is hand drawn and the ‘lasso’ is some string I had in my bits box! I kind of like this card, I think it has a simple cuteness about it that I wasn’t expecting! YeeHaw!  Looking forward to the next one!

So for something entirely new! My friend Emma has launched her new blog today and she has CANDY! not sure what that means? it means she has a give way which is always good news! You can visit Emma’s blog page here and if you leave her a comment you will be entered for her bog candy give away. What are you waiting for?

What’s next I hear you shout? well, my youngest is back to school very soon so that means back to school for me and my lovely ladies. Our Simply Stamping Classes will commence again around 20th of the month so keep your eyes peeled for more details! I will be back later in the week with more Stamp Camp photo’s, some more makes and hopefully more news!

Until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Creativity…Stamp Camp…Sneak Peaks

So, it has been a busy weekend. I am without children, they have been down south visiting with my Dad who is bringing them back on Monday. It has been very, very quiet without them. I have to confess that although I moan about the noise and the mess etc I have missed them heaps.
But, it has meant that I have been able to get on with some crafting and some organising for crafting. It also meant that two of my pals were able to come over for a crafting session on Saturday afternoon which was great fun! We got loads done – yep my makes will feature here this week! – we managed to inspire each other with mini challenges. Here is a picture of last weeks challenge from my upline, Emma. The challenge was to use Bashful Blue and Cherry Cobbler card stock.
20110718-122733.jpg I ran the bashful blue through the BigShot in a folder and edge the cherry cobbler with versa mark before coating with gold embossing powder. I tore a small piece of DSP and scrunched it up before using my dauber to edge it in Early Esspresso. The Key stamp is from Artistic Etchings, a set I havent used very much, yet! And naturally, I finished off with a little seem binding ribbon in Marina Mist.
So, no.1, here is another challenge for you. My pal Jen has issued us a challenge incorporating both stamp sets and colour, but I think for you we will stick with Jen’s stamp challenge. What I would like you to do is use a stamp in a way that is unusual. So for instance you might have a stamp that you could repeat and turn into a snow flake. I think you get the idea. Email them to me and I will post them on here.
Next up is….drum roll…..STAMP CAMP!!! Yeah! I have been bowled over by the response to this and am delighted to be sending out the first batch of invitations for the Mid Summer Stamp Camp tomorrow. There are still spaces available at the moment on the Saturday session but the Tuesday one is filling up fast so don’t wait around, get that PayPal button in the top right hand corner pressed, email me your postal address and get your place booked! It’s going to be loads of fun, there are spot prizes and a raffle as well- can’t tell you what the prizes are going to be yet, that would spoil the fun!
And finally a quick sneak peak….

20110718-122919.jpg Naturally, because this is a sneak peak, I can’t tell you anything yet about how I made this card. But you will get to find out at the Stamp Camp!
Until next time, don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! Xxx

With sadness and joy…. deep, deep JOY! and a challenge!

So time has passed since the venture called Simply Stamping set sail! It is a full six weeks since the very first class and an enormous learning curve for me getting the class materials prepared, adjusting the classes themselves to fit everybody’s needs and accommodating the different learning types in each of the three classes, because not everybody learns the same way! What a blast! Very sadly, today was the last of the two Saturday classes and on Tuesday it is the last of those ones too. I have met some incredibly talented people, many of whom could already do the things that I have helped them to ‘learn’ but really needed some confidence to put them into practice.  Their talent is evident from the results of their creativity. And as well as helping you to learn you have all taught me too! I have learnt to have a little more patience with people who don’t necessarily pick things up as quickly as others, I have learnt humility from people who have been incredibly gracious over my bumbling attempts to deliver the classes when my confidence wasn’t exactly bubbling over, and I have learnt to have an open mind over creative differences: like beauty, creativity is in the eye of the beholder! To each and every one of you – THANK YOU – I have loved meeting you and have loved every minute of the class time we have had together….except that very first minute of the very first class when for that minute I lost confidence over whether I could actually deliver what I had promised, but you all helped me through. A BIG kiss to you all X. I am sad it is over.

I have deep, deep joy to be able to tell you that following a meeting with Craft World this afternoon it looks like we will be back with another six week set! YIPPEE! This will build on what we have done already and be called More Simply Stamping! YEEHA!  How great is that? There will be clear notification over class times etc but it looks like they will recommence right after the children go back to school mid august….and you know what?  I can’t wait!      If there is sufficient demand then we will run the Simply Stamping class all over again so if you missed any of it you can cover the bit you missed, other wise you can just enjoy some more simple stamping techniques building up to a final project and have I got some fun for you! When that email drops in your box get yourself booked right in – it should be coming your way mid to late July so watch this space!

Right! onto what you came here for – some crafting – Golly I am almost too excited to get this post done!   As you know I quite like to CASE designs and this first card is definitely a CASE!

Build a Bossom Citrus

I was inspired to this card and the next by this website by Jenny Moors – these are her designs and you can go and purchase a PDF set of instructions from her for a reasonable amount of money and make your own fantastic card designs – just like these! I love the fresh feel of them and the beautiful colours: So Saffron, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzaz and Early Esspresso – Could it get any fresher? The centre piece is stamped in Pear Pizzazz then costed liberally in Glossy accents and sprinkled with my favourite ‘tool’ – Glamour Dust! It shines so beautifully, will I ever groom out of needing that glitz?

Build a Blossom Citrus

This card is from the same set but features a little more of the gorgeous Pear Pizzazz, I simply love the Regal Rose petals on this, I curved them with my bone folder to really make them sit up , the bottom layer curl inwards and the top layer curl out and combined with the dotty layer beneath – this is a real 3D card!

And finally, a card inspired by my cousin who lives out in Australia – her daughter is getting married next year and Sharon – my cousin – asked me to send her a stamp from our Mini catalogue as ours is different to the Australian one.  The stamp is a couple on a bicycle and has a very weddingy feel to it.  When she first asked me I was terribly perplexed as I hadn’t seen this stamp in the Mini and couldn’t actually find it at first! then I did and as soon as I saw it I wanted it – I think it is simply delightful and has so many potential applications – I love it!  So Sharon, thank you for pointing this out to me, yours is on its way to you!

Cycling to a new life..

The card is made using Shimmery white, Basic Black and Melon Mambo and the stamp set is Always Elegant, Wedding Wheels, the embellishments are pearls and Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon.

Okay, I think that’s me – I am trying to make these posts a little shorter and I have a couple to pre make ready for when I am away on my holidays – I write them now and the self post in my absence – Cool Eh? So till next time – remember to stamp your place on the world!  xxx

I feel like Bruce Forsyth but…..Didn’t they do well?!

So my crafting girls had homework again. This time they had to make something out of two die cut pieces but they needed to stamp something, anything, on them. Here is how they did!

Pink Bag

Fern stamp Bag

Sea Horses

Yellow Flower Bag

Yellow Flower Bag

Wee Mice

Cup Cakes

Flower Book Mark

Puffin Book Mark

Japanese Girl in a Box

Aligator Mail

Monochrome Butterfly

Monochrome Bird

Monochrome Heart

Monochrome Flowers

What fantastic designs! I love each and every one of them and the magnificent effort they all have put in to these. Everyone has worked hard to get these done and really come up trumps with them – I am so proud!

This next weeks home work is really going to be something  and I cant wait to see what they do with it – another 3d project with stamping!

Extra, Extra! learn how to get it…Whoosh and it’s gone!…ATC’s, Stamp Club and Paleo/Cardio Challenge

Extra! Extra!!  Want an extra £20 to spend on SU goodies? me too! and you can have that on top of your usual Hostess gift and money to spend on lovely SU delights right from our extensive range of goodies simply by either placing an order or getting together with your pals to place an order for £250 or more and the Extra is all yours. Remember you can email me or phone an order in – you don’t need to hold a demo event at your home but if you want to just give me a call and I will be happy to come over for coffee and crafting!

Stamp Club – Alternatively what about joining one of my stamp clubs? these have proved amazingly popular and I currently have two places left on my Stamping Ten club and one place left on my Stamping Six club.  How does it work? Simple – you choose what you would like to purchase from the amazing Ideas and Catalogue book then commit to purchase £25 worth of goodies for either six months (stamping Six Club) or £15 worth of goodies for ten months (stamping Ten club). During that time you will be ‘hostess’ one particular month and receive all the benefits of being Hostess which includes a FREE hostess stamp set of your choice from the Hostess pages plus £15 to spend on whatever you would like from the catalogues. What a Bargain! Drop me an email and don’t miss your place on one of these clubs!

Whoosh! – So where did that week go?  One minute I was posting to my blog, creating class packs for my Lovely Ladies in my classes, packing to go visit my Dad for the bank holiday weekend and the next minute the weekend was three days ago, the class packs have been distributed, the classes are over for that week and it is almost time for the next ones! What a week! Friday last was busy finishing class packs and packing to go down to see my Dad. My Mum died just over two years ago and Dad is on his own down in Lincolnshire still in the house he lived in with my Mum for thirty five years. He has emptied and closed off rooms as the house is pretty big and he cannot afford to heat all the rooms but I think there is an element of them bringing too many memories for him too. We go down to him but he comes up more often. His house is now up for sale but the market being what it is he hasn’t had much interest yet – it will change. So we had a great weekend with him, my eldest boy went down on the train on the Friday and we arrived en masse late saturday night – its a six hour journey and we didn’t leave till i had finished my afternoon class. All of a sudden it was Monday afternoon and time for us to leave. It felt very sad because Dad had had a house full and all of a sudden it was empty again.

Tuesday whizzed by as well with my Tuesday Morning class, a trip to Sainsbury and preparing materials for this weeks classes!  then on Wednesday I got a call form the estate agents to say they had someone interested in looking round OUR house (did I mention we are up for sale too? obviously we want Dad to come live with us but we need a slightly bigger place to give him some privacy) and not half an hour later but Dad rings me to say he has someone coming to view HIS house on Friday – talk about coincidence! So being the crafter that I am last night was spent getting the remains of the class packs ready and tonight has been spent cleaning – from top to bottom! I work in the day and don’t get home until seven so I really only have the evenings to do the cleaning and I really want my home to look lovely for someone to look round. Fingers crossed! Ideally we would like to move to a village just a couple of miles away where my youngest goes to school and I guess we will need to start looking in earnest now!

Whilst I was down at Dad’s I happened to get an email from a friend down there who owns her own Craft shop – Running with Scissors is an amazing place and I have had the pleasure of attending some of Tracey’s craft/card making and scrapbook page classes – they are truly amazing and Tracey is incredibly talented. But the thing I love most is that Running with Scissors runs it’s very own ATC swap club. Now if you have never done an ATC let me warn you it is addictive! ATC’s are only 2 1/2′ x 3 1/2′ in size and are a reflection of your artistic style. Often times, places that run these swaps will suggest a theme for each month and this months theme at Running with Scissors is recycling. So this is what I made:

Recycle - Reuse

Remember each of these is only 2 1/2′ x 3 1/2′ in size. What did I recycle? well I ‘borrowed’ some of Dad’s garden twine, and the centres of the flowers are scrunched up Ferrero Roche foils. I screwed them up then mashed them down with the flat of my scissors, shaped them round and stuck them down! I think they came out pretty well. Fancy starting our own ATC swap?  me too! Drop me an email and we will see what the interest is like for creating these cool little devils!

Paleo and Cardio Challenge Paleo has been great again this week – maintained that one stone loss so very happy with that! Still loving the simplicity although a rather large bag of Sports Mixtures did creep into the shopping trolley at Sainsbury! Cardio Challenge is proving a little more difficult! The weather has been atrocious until tonight when the sun shone all the way home from work but I couldn’t take advantage as I needed to get one with cleaning! I will make huge efforts from Saturday! I promise.

So very little  crafting done this week but I have some great ideas for next week and will hopefully get lots of crafting done Saturday night and Sunday – my Beloved is wanting to play golf Saturday so he will sleep through Saturday night after all that fresh air! and Sunday unfortunately the weather is due to turn again! Get the brollies out again girls!

Till next time – don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

I had the time of my life….Stamp Club….Cardio Challenge and what comes next?

Oh My, Oh My!  what a great time we had yesterday! It was the start of theSimply Stamping classes and what a start! I drove there quite early to get set up and ensure I was there to great my ladies coming in. Just after half past nine the heavens opened and it started to rain! (it actually only stopped sometime early this morning!) The sky turned that rather nasty iron colour and just let the rain fall down in sheets. I thought ‘No one is going to come out in this weather for anything’. And then the ladies started to arrive. In ones and two’s. And they were looking as terrified as I felt. But golly! they were lovely to me.  If they knew I was terrified they never let on and laughed at my – very, very – small jokes as well! Here are a couple of pics – they all asked to photographed on their ‘good’ side – I hope I got it right!

Simply Stamping Girls

They all look very industrious don’t they!

Simply Stamping Girls - The Moon and Gold Girls

These girls have such lovely names I just couldn’t resist giving them a new moniker – Tracey and Gillian – thank you so much for your lovely comments on the blog and I can’t wait till next week either!

Simply Stamping Girls

I was chuffed to bits that every one was happy to get up and walk about – I have been to classes where I dare not move from my seat! This first class was pretty informal and designed to get everyone chatting together, moving around and comfortable working around others. A bit of a free for all really. Next week it all starts to get tougher! We will incorporate what we learned this week and add a couple of steps to it!  Great fun!  My second group of girls was a little smaller – only four turned up but I suspect the weather had an awful lot to do with it. Whilst these girls were totally different in personality as a group, they were still lots of fun to be around!  I don’t craft WITH anyone and it is something I really miss – when you craft together you tend to bounce ideas around and amazing things get made! Thats what happened with both of these groups – It was honestly a pleasure to be there! I am really looking forward to my last ‘first’ class on tuesday and really looking forward to class two starting saturday. If you haven’t booked your place then its time to give me a call or drop me an email!

STAMP CLUB – what do you think to that idea?  How will that work? and of course a billion other questions.  It’s simple really – you opt in to my Stampers Six group – there are six people in it and you each commit to spending £25.00 per month for six months. What do you get?  Well first off you will get a FREE copy of the Stampin’ UP Idea’s and Catalogue book, then when it’s your turn to be Hostess you get to choose your favourite stamp set right from the Idea’s and Catalogue Hostess Pages. AND on top of all that you also get to choose FREEBIES up to £15.00 on the month that you are Hostess! Cool eh?! What do you need to do to get into the club? Give me a call or an email and we will get you rolling towards your fantastic FREEBIES and HOSTESS Stamp Set.

Cardio Challenge starts tomorrow – thank the Lord it’s my feet that will be doing it and not my hands! I am not sure that I could manage to go too long without crafting!  So what I have to do is complete 40k – Yep! I did say 40k – each week for six weeks! Am I scared – you bet I am! At fifty years of age things don’t work quite as easily as they did when I was thirty or even forty and running on a regular basis! I am knocking back the Glucosamine and Chondroitin to get my bones and ligaments ready and am praying to God that the rain stops soon! All I need to do now is get those running shoes on….

It was my friend Sam’s birthday this week. Sam is my pal from work and a very cool and trendy person – I wanted to make her a card that reflected her personality and then I remembered this stamp set that I hadn’t used yet – A Flower for All Seasons and I thought Sam deserved to get lots of flowers and all seasons flowers are just about a reflection of her – she never changes and is always so lovely no matter what is happening! Happy Birthday to you Sam!

Happy Birthday Sam!

So what comes next?  Hmm….well I have just booked my place at the Stampin’ Up Convention in Paris in November where I am hoping to meet lots of other Stampin’ Up girls, learn about the fantastic Christmas Stamps coming up and get some tips and tricks for some new techniques, designs and ideas to pass on to you girls.  I am quite excited about it and no doubts as it gets closer you will hear me going on about it quite a lot! Next week my Simply Stamping girls are going to be doing the Rock and Roll technique and the Two Step stamping technique – sounds like we ought to be having our dancing shoes on!

Time to go I am afraid but till next time – remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

AAArrggghh! Its tomorrow already! My Name is Jonathon, Paleo and a few of my favourite things…

Can you believe it? Me either! So for those who have skipped a few posts: Tomorrow is the start of the Simply Stamping classes over at Craft World (Scotland) Ltd, at Hillington. I have prepared myself into oblivion! My bags are all packed and waiting by the door. All I need to do now is go there and deliver the class! Easy!  Yeah…right. So will I get to sleep? I doubt it. Am I nervous? Too right I am! Will I get over it? sometime around 3.30pm tomorrow afternoon I might…..   Seriously though….I have done all class bags, I have cut ribbon, card stock and pearls into portion sizes, everything is ready and waiting for those lovely ladies to turn up and be entertained. I am really looking forward to it so fingers crossed that it all turns out alright…I will let you know and if it doesnt look like its going well…I will just tell them my name is Jonathon!

Paleo – still going brilliantly, twelve pounds now and when I go to work on Monday I will be wearing a large ladies (fitted) tshirt instead of a large unisex one. You will have seen me in it, I am the one that looks like a rather large blue sack with sufficient room for two people in it, especially in the sleeves, waist, shoulder and boob area. Oh – you are right, that’s pretty much everywhere then! Also Monday the Cardio Challenge begins – 40k a week for six weeks. Yep, I know. I though it was for only four weeks too, but just think how much different I might look in six weeks instead of four…..

And what you came here for – some crafting…..

Vintage in Gold

This first card is made with the Springtime Vintage stamp set from the mini (see right hand side!). I made the centre piece pretty much as soon as I got the stamp set – I wanted to see how it would perform and I sat with the stamped image in front of me for weeks before deciding to turn it into a card. The ribbon didn’t turn out quite as I had hoped so if there is anyone out there who could teach me how to ruffle up my ribbon – please get in touch!

Flowers in Purple

This one I just had to make. I love this Exclusive to SU Bigz L die cutter – I cut the flowers out then ran them through my BigShot inside the Exclusive to SU Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. I love the depth of texture it gives. I then attached it to a piece of card stock which went through the BigShot inside the Exclusive to SU Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. I also liberally spritzed everything with Glamour Dust but that hasn’t shown up as well as I had hoped – sorry.

Pink Vintage

I would love to take all the credit for this little number but I would feel very bad about it if I did. Whilst I have created this card in Pretty in Pink and Early Espresso there is an original that I CASEd this card from.

Pink Vintage

You can see the original here although I am going to purchase the instructions, for the rest of the set for us to make, that Jenny made although hers are in a totally different colour way. If you visit Jenny’s page you have to scroll about half way down to get to the area where the original is.  Isn’t her work lovely? I was bowled over by the crisp and clean lines that she makes. Love those designs!

And finally….

Baja Flowers

I realised that, although I really love the Top Note die, I am not using it an awful lot so I made a concerted effort to make a card using it this week. And this is the result. I love the blingy bits on the big flower but they don’t show off the sparkle in the photo as much as I would have liked.

OK – off to try to get some sleep now. I have packed my camera, so with permission from my ladies I will take some pics and let you know how it has gone….till next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx
