Upscale Projects – Upscaled!

Upscale Projects

I promised you late last week that I would show you how to easily upscale two cards  – and here they are!

This was our original card – Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Sweet SugarPlum card stock, Sweet Sugar Plum ink to stamp the sentiment. I have used Layering Love sentiment, and the lovely Swirly Scribbles thinlits for the die cuts with pearls to finish off with. It is a simple card.

And this is the updated, upscaled version!  I have matted and layered the Layering Love sentiment, adding dimensionals between each layer to give depth, and die cut a few more flowers using the Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo card stock (great way to use p scraps of card stock too!).

The second card I made was this one:

Again a clean and simple card using Whisper White, Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo card stock and Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo to stamp the images which are from Balloon Celebration and Layering Love.

The upscaled version:

I have used Wink Of Stella glitter brush to add glisten to the balloon. Once it was dry – a few seconds for this – I dusted over the balloon with my embossing buddy and then I have then coated it with Versa Mark before sprinkling clear embossing powder over it and heating with my heat tool. I did this several time – three I think – and then le it cool.  This has given my balloon a really glossy, shiny finish…

…and here close up…

The whole card was then finished off with a few sequins in Blushing Bride.

I hope you like how I have upscaled these two clean and simple cards to give them a little more impact.

Ok lets look at some new products –

Halloween Candy Wrapper Box

Candy Wrapper Box

So this fantastic box and card set was created by the Lovely Kirsteen for the Tartan Stampers Mini convention and you can view more from Kirsteen by clicking her name. I loved this so much I did tell Kirsteen I would probably end up stalking her! Oh! Dear! This is made with the NEW Candy Wrapper die from Sizzix (yes you can get it right in your Ideas Book and Catalogue!) and is teamed with the creepily delightful Frightful Sight DSP. This is going to end up as a class piece I fear as I just love it to pieces, I never thought much to the Owl Builder Punch set until I saw it in this and Yes that is the Build a blossom petal used to create that lil’ ol Devil!

Delicate Doilies

This is another ‘make’ from the Tartan Stampers – this time Jen from Stampin Glitz who made this superb Clean and Simple card using the delightful Delicate Doilies stamp set and the very versatile Lace Ribbon Border – Yes! both new! Here Jen has teamed them with Basic Black CS, ink and ribbon and Melon Mambo CS.

Forever Young Timeless Portrait

This is the Timeless Portrait product suite (new phrase? more on that later) This lovely card was made by Dawn Silver  who heads up the Tartan Stampers. She has used the Brand New Timeless Portrait DSP, First Edition DSP, Basic Black CS and Satin Ribbon, then Dawn has embossed the Forever Young Stamp in black (yes we do Black embossing powder – Who Knew?!) And it is finished with the Lace Ribbon Border punch – did I mention how versatile that is?

Ok, a few more cards later! Why has it taken me so long to post? Well, funny you should ask! Firstly I attended the Tartan Stampers Mini convention here in Glasgow. Around twenty seven of us got together for a whole weekend of crafting fun! The weekend started with a meal out then on the Saturday we did a shoebox swap (I will show you mine in a later post) where we all design a project and then pop enough product in a box for the other 26 girls to make one each! So much fun and a great way to quickly learn new techniques or try new and different products! Another meal out on the Saturday night then on Sunday we got down and dirty with some scrap book pages and a fabulous mini album complete with pin wheels and pop ups! And I never noticed the weather until My Beloved came and collected me, tired and crafted out!

Following that much fun it was back to work and time to get my eldest son back to University. What a nightmare that has turned out to be!  This is his second year so he comes out of halls of residence and into private accommodation. On the thursday before his return one of the boys who had already moved in sent pictures of my sons room…complete with Gas water boiler and electric fuse box resplendent with wirework! Alarm bells started to go off….they haven’t stopped yet! When we finally got there on the Saturday the whole place was disgustingly dirty. My son’s room was worse than I had possibly imagined and came complete with four damp walls (I must mention that the temperature in Durham was 26 degrees and the walls were running with water! So I dare NOT imagine what it would be like in the dead of winter like the ones we have had recently!) mouse dropping, mouse dinner crumbs, mouse wee, a mattress that was crawling and a fire window that was jammed shut! Then I got a longer look at the rest of the flat. The kitchen took me more than three hours to clean and disinfect the cupboards, work surfaces and disinfect the pots and cutlery so that I could feel comfortable having a cup of tea! The bathrooms enjoyed a very liberal sprinkle of Domestos before I even thought about starting in them. I cannot express how awful this place is. I would like to say that we are NOT paying an awful in rent but we are! a huge amount! I would like to say that the Landlords are mortified that the property is in this awful state…but they are not. the claim that is has been professionally cleaned…mind you they did not say that it was cleaned in the last fifteen years!  As any parent would, we have insisted that he not stay there and have sought help from the University to help get alternative temporary accommodation for our son until we can sort something more permanent.   What I find the most awful is peoples attitudes toward student accommodation. They seem to think that standards don’t apply because it is students that will be living in these flats. I realise that students are a pain in the back side and often have no care for the properties they are staying in. But that is not all students just a few and it is usually the parents who are paying for the accommodation that our children are staying in. It is heartbreaking to consider leaving your child in such dismal and appalling conditions voluntarily! If we were finding people living in these conditions who were socially challenged and poor there would be total outrage! why then are students expected to put up with these conditions JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE STUDENTS?  soap box done with…for now!

On a lighter note…This coming Saturday is our October Technique Tornado day! Have you booked your place? if not head on up to the link on the right and get booked in – we have loads of fun lined up and a guest designer too!  It is first come first served so don’t delay book today!  And then on 12th November we have our Christmas Stamp a Stack Day – we will make five designs of card four times = twenty cards in total and a special make in the middle of the day! Book your place now as there are very few places left – it is proving to be a really popular event!

Finally a couple of cards featuring another new product….Pennant Parade!

Pennant Parade

I made these very simple little cards using the now retired Jolly Holiday DSP and the very New Pennant Parade Stamp set and Punch. I stamped the Pennant shape three times using Old Olive on Whisper White CS and punched it out before adhering the Pennants together. I stamped the tree pot and Star the added the ‘tree’ to the space in between (of course I measured it – doesn’t it look pretty perfect!!!!) I then layered this onto the DSP, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Card stock and Voila! and super little Christmas card you can get the kids to help make!

Until next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

A Retirement Update….Excitement….and The Next Big Thing!

I cannot believe that we are already half way through September!  Mind it has been a very busy month so far and only going to get busier but more about that in a minute. WHATS GOING ON WITH RETIREMENT PRODUCTS LORRAINE?  I hear you ask, well good that you did because we are running out of stuff rapidly! I am popping the link HERE for you to go directly to the Retirement list. But here are a couple of things I am really sad to see go:

Spiral Border Punch, Baby Blossoms, Springtime Vintage DSP

Firstly we have the versatile and extremely useful Spiral Border Punch which I have used to cover the, also retiring, On Board journal. I use this punch for loads of things including covering books for my son for school! Next are the lovely Baby Blossoms stamp set which is retiring when the mini leaves us at the end of September too! and the Spring TIme Vintage paper. More versatile products which can be dressed down for a very vintage feel or dressed up for a much more modern but slightly retro effect.

Bella Toile

I only found this stamp after being on Jenny Moors blog – this is a CASE of one of her lovely cards. I fell in love with this immediately and can still see so many uses for it so am very sorry to see Bella Toile departing. If you want these products you need to get in touch with me pretty fast as they will only be available for another 11 days! After that they will NEVER BE AVAILABLE AGAIN!  so don’t be disappointed, get in touch now on and place your order before it is too late!

Now I have to tell you, I am pretty excited! This coming weekend I am going into Glasgow to spend the whole weekend – from Friday night until Sunday tea time – with a group of lovely girls from across the whole of Scotland – The Tartan Stampers! We are going for a meal on Friday night then spending the whole of Saturday and Sunday crafting, stamping and chatting!!! And generally having a great time! I cannot wait. I will be with a group of very talented and lovely people, we will be sharing our tips and tricks, I suspect there will be chocolate passed around! and I will hopefully have loads of brilliant makes to show you next week.  Is this your cup of tea? Wish it was you too?  Well next time it could be! I have a space for one person to join my team – The Stamp Delicious Gals – and next time you too could be having a terrific crafting weekend! Drop me an email and we can chat more about how you could be earning a little extra pocket money for your self whilst doing something you love (Let’s face it, you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t love crafting and stamping, now would you?).

The Technique Tornado Days have been a tremendous amount of fun and the girls who have attended have asked for more. Who am I to turn them down? Heavens! I have had loads of fun getting the techniques together and teaching them – this last weekend we got down and dirty with shaving foam, baby wipes and loads of paper tissues! Not quite sure what will top that but I will need to come up with something pretty fast as the next Technique Tornado Day looks set for Saturday 8th October with a possible follow up – depending on demand – the following week of the 15th October, they will be at the Campanile Hotel again – great venue, loads of car parking and a FREE Bus service from Braehead Bus Station too! What more could we want? Wanna Come? thought you might – head on up to the top of the page there and get your place booked! FIRST COME FIRST SERVED!  I have limited places so if you want to come and your friend want to come too then get your places booked NOW! or you could end up missing out!

On top of this – Our Christmas Stamp a Stack is filling up rapidly – I can only take around twelve people for this! Again at the Campanile, it is on Saturday 12th November, 10.00 am – 4.30pm and costs £25.00. We have some lovely makes for you : will be making five cards x 4 = 20 cards using some of the lovely NEW products that are coming on 1st October and a brilliant 3d Christmas decoration to break to day up! You can book your place at the top of the page – again FIRST COME FIRST SERVED! I know you don’t want to miss out so book your place today!

So girls, until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

And we are off…..Date for your diary…PARTY PARTY PARTY ….and finally moved!

So we started our classes back up today – We are at the Campanile Hotel near Braehead and do you know what? They provide a FREE bus service between Braehead bus station and the hotel and back again!  How cool is that?  I was amazed by that – you don’t get something for nothing these days but apparently you CAN get a free bus service!

It was so lovely to see the girls again for our class. Thank you Tracey for the chocolate – you are a star as always! We had fun with today’s techniques – both resist techniques, one with masking fluid and one with wax crayon – everyone was reminiscing about school after smelling the masking fluid which was really strange – it has a funny kind of fishy glue smell which I suppose is exactly what the glue smelt like when we were at school! anyway – it was fun and brought back memories too! Here’s what we made:

Baroque Motifs - Resist Technique

This was the card made with masking fluid- the girls were a lot more artistic with their application of fluid  than me!

Penny Black Rose Heart

This lovely rose card was the one we used the wax crayon technique on – scratching off the wax where we wanted highlights to show through .

So on 3rd September we will be  holding our RETIRAL LIST party!  Yippee! this is to celebrate and say good bye to items that are leaving the Stamping Up catalogue FOR GOOD!  The party is from 1.30 – 3.30 ish at the Campanile hotel and costs £3.00. We will be doing make and takes and generally having a crafting good time! Yes I will be putting a PayPal button up in the next couple of days so you can pay before you arrive and beat the rush!  Remember to add your postal address so I can get your ticket out to you!

This next card is my offering for our Tartan Stampers challenge – the challenge was to use double embossing. The card is made using whisper white and Pear Pizazz card stock, Pear Pizazz ink, pearls, Sizzix Embossing folder, border punch and the Flight of the Butterfly and Just Believe stamp sets.

Just Believe

This final card is the one I have  made for my dad to send out to people to let them know where he has moved to. It is a single layer card and took minutes to make – I think it has turned out pretty well!

Moving House

I printed up inserts to save him writing all the details out a dozen times! I think he is nearly unpacked – we had a trip to Ikea yesterday to get another chest of drawers for his things and he has decided he wants a new computer now as well so another shopping trip on the horizon!

Okay – I think that is it for now – Don’t forget the classes – we still have a some spaces and you would be more than welcome! Pop me an email over for more details. So until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

It’s Getting Hot in Here….Moving House….

Okay Ladies, so have you booked your place at Simply Stamping class yet? things are a slightly different this time around as we are at a different venue and will be taking our techniques a few steps further.  Not booked in? don’t wait around as we don’t have as many class places as last time and it would be a shame to miss out.

Sooooo! I did say it’s getting hot in here but actually I think it’s getting cooler (it’s definitely wetter! has it stopped raining here for long?) and when it gets cooler my thoughts most definitely turn towards Christmas Cards – so here’s one I made earlier!

Christmas Trees

I love this card – It appeals to my sense of simple! We have Pacific Point, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The whisper white is stamped with Lovely as a Tree stamp set, the run through the Sizzix Bigz Top Note die cutter before being brayered with Pacific Point. I then used a White pen to outline the top and copious amounts of glitter for the Trees. A couple of rhinestones at each corner finished it off.

Contempo Christmas

Another very simple card if you have a stack to make (Hint, Hint!) This is Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holiday DSP, Contempo Christmas stamp set, Oval punch, and the decorative label punch and finished with some pearls.

Contempo Christmas

Do they get any simpler than this?  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holiday DSP, Contempo Christmas stamp set, Oval punch, and the decorative label punch and finished with rhinestones – does that have a familiar ring to it?

So Friday will see my dad coming to live with us. I know I have mentioned before about this – we went down to see him this last weekend and help him finish up his packing. The removal men arrive tomorrow to start taking some of his things into storage – pending us selling our house for something a touch bigger to accommodate him and potentially give him a sitting room as well as a bedroom. He lived with my Mum in that house for 33 years and then another two on his own so it’s a big step for him to move away. we are al  looking forward to him coming to bee with us as it means we know he won’t be on his own for another winter and it also means there is someone in the house for my youngest when he gets in from school which is some thing he has found particularly difficult. These times, they are a changing’.

While I was down at my Dad’s I headed on in to see my friend Tracey at Running with Scissors. I participate in her ATC swap group. All I have to do is create six ATC’s and then send five of them out to her. In return I get five back that have been made by other ladies int he ATC group. What are ATC’s? they are a 3 1/2′ x 2 1/2′ representation of your talent! Tracey sets a theme and we work to that theme. Last month the colour was yellow and the theme was circles this month it is black and white and ‘dreams’. Fancy having a go? thought you might – head on over to  Tracey’s blog HERE and get yourself signed in. Its great fun, I feel sure that you will enjoy taking part – the best bit is waiting for your ATC’s to arrive in the post!

Finally a quick reminder of the details for the classes – If you haven’t yet booked and still want a place – head onus to the top of the blog and there on the right hand side you will see the PayPal button, go ahead and press it and pay for your class.

Step away from the Shimmer Paint! ….Something for FREE!

So when my latest box of goodie arrived from Stampin’ Up last week, I had ordered a couple of things I had never used before – one of which was the Champagne Shimmer Paint.  I love it!  I love it not just on my projects but on my fingers too! It leaves a kind of see through soft glory sparkle! Anyway! Coming from a household chock full of boys is it really any wonder that I love there terribly girly stuff like shimmer paint and Glamour Dust? Here are a couple of things I made (but I suspect there will be lots more to come!)

Baroque Motif Butterflies

Every thing in this card is either Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake or Early Espresso – except for the Champagne shimmer paint! Oh and the Pearls! I used the Baroque Motif stamp set, and the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies cutter.

Baroque Motif Flowers

This one is for my entry to our challenge – use three blues and a technique! I chose the wax resist method. Here I used Bashfull Blue, Marina Mist and Night of Navy. I also used the Baroque Motif stamp set (again!) but used a white wax crayon to add resist areas where I didn’t want the ink from my brayer to stay. You will be shocked to note that I also used Champagne Shimmer paint (again!) and a few pearls to finish.

Want something for free! YES I did say FREE!  Okay, so if you spend £75 in any single order, or hold a party where your combined guest order totals £250 you will receive (as well as the usual perks!) this beautiful set. And it is beautiful – I have one! and I think it is gorgeous – No I didn’t spend £75 on Shimmer paint! But you would be forgiven for thinking so!  Give me a call, drop me an email or send me a text but what ever you do, don’t miss out on this amazing offer!  Contact details HERE!

Rich Razzleberry gift

And finally, a little Christmas trial – I wanted to make a Christmas card suitable for my youngest son that doesn’t take an age to make so I can easily make lots and would be suitable for him to give to his pals. This is what I came up with – it needs tweaking but essentially I think it is about there – he loves it anyway!

Contempo Christmas simply made

This card is made with Very Vanilla, stamped in Old Olive and using the Contempo Christmas and Heard from the Heart stamp sets. I then used a bit of post it note to roughly draw a star, cut the star our and used it to mask out the star area while I buffed some Real Red through some sequin foil, then used it as a reverse mask so I could buff some So Saffron into the star shape. I used Old Olive marker pen to draw the squiggle lines around the whole. I think it took me about ten minutes but my son loves it and wants all his Christmas cards this year like this – suits me!

Until next time, don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Wow! What a day!….a little VSN YeeHaw!…. Something New….what Lorraine is doing next….

Good Evening Girls!  I have so much to share with you I hardly know where to start! but I think the best place is with a few pics – these are from the AMAZING day a the Campanile Hotel where I held my very first Stampin’ Up Mid Summer Stamp Camp!  And what a day it was! Lots of lovely ladies turned up and we had a full day crafting and stamping…And they got to take the stamp set we featured home with them too! How Cool!

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday - Jen doing her thing!

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday - all together now!

Mid Summer Stamp Camp - saturday

So the ladies made 7/8 cards, a scrap book page and a 3d project! We had coffee, tea and pastries and home made tablet (thank you very much Gillian!) and lots other chocolatey goodies (thank you Tracey and Theresa!) Am I going to show you what we made? NO! not yet because we are doing it all again tomorrow!

So as many of you know I follow Splitcoast Stampers, this weekend was Virtual Stamp Night Rodeo theme! I love taking part in these – my crafting and creativity usually goes skywards, I don’t know whether it is because you get a theme and loose direction or whether it is because you only have 45 minutes to complete the task! But what ever it is my creativity increases and I always love the things I make under this self inflicted pressure. I only managed two creations out of six this weekend but I am marking my diary for the next one which is the end of August!

Rodeo VSN - Grand Entrance

Everything I used in the two cards came from my scrap box so I have no idea’s about what products have been used. There is most definitely some Stampin’ Up card stock in there and I used my Nestabilities die cutters too.

VSN Rodeo - Sequins

In this card we had to use sequins which stumped me a little! I wasn’t sure I even had any! anyway I did have this delightful cowboy stamp from Moorhead stamps, I just paper pieced it in girly colours, and had drew some longer hair to make it a little more girly. The background is brayered (still needs practice!) the fence and grass is hand drawn and the ‘lasso’ is some string I had in my bits box! I kind of like this card, I think it has a simple cuteness about it that I wasn’t expecting! YeeHaw!  Looking forward to the next one!

So for something entirely new! My friend Emma has launched her new blog today and she has CANDY! not sure what that means? it means she has a give way which is always good news! You can visit Emma’s blog page here and if you leave her a comment you will be entered for her bog candy give away. What are you waiting for?

What’s next I hear you shout? well, my youngest is back to school very soon so that means back to school for me and my lovely ladies. Our Simply Stamping Classes will commence again around 20th of the month so keep your eyes peeled for more details! I will be back later in the week with more Stamp Camp photo’s, some more makes and hopefully more news!

Until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

With sadness and joy…. deep, deep JOY! and a challenge!

So time has passed since the venture called Simply Stamping set sail! It is a full six weeks since the very first class and an enormous learning curve for me getting the class materials prepared, adjusting the classes themselves to fit everybody’s needs and accommodating the different learning types in each of the three classes, because not everybody learns the same way! What a blast! Very sadly, today was the last of the two Saturday classes and on Tuesday it is the last of those ones too. I have met some incredibly talented people, many of whom could already do the things that I have helped them to ‘learn’ but really needed some confidence to put them into practice.  Their talent is evident from the results of their creativity. And as well as helping you to learn you have all taught me too! I have learnt to have a little more patience with people who don’t necessarily pick things up as quickly as others, I have learnt humility from people who have been incredibly gracious over my bumbling attempts to deliver the classes when my confidence wasn’t exactly bubbling over, and I have learnt to have an open mind over creative differences: like beauty, creativity is in the eye of the beholder! To each and every one of you – THANK YOU – I have loved meeting you and have loved every minute of the class time we have had together….except that very first minute of the very first class when for that minute I lost confidence over whether I could actually deliver what I had promised, but you all helped me through. A BIG kiss to you all X. I am sad it is over.

I have deep, deep joy to be able to tell you that following a meeting with Craft World this afternoon it looks like we will be back with another six week set! YIPPEE! This will build on what we have done already and be called More Simply Stamping! YEEHA!  How great is that? There will be clear notification over class times etc but it looks like they will recommence right after the children go back to school mid august….and you know what?  I can’t wait!      If there is sufficient demand then we will run the Simply Stamping class all over again so if you missed any of it you can cover the bit you missed, other wise you can just enjoy some more simple stamping techniques building up to a final project and have I got some fun for you! When that email drops in your box get yourself booked right in – it should be coming your way mid to late July so watch this space!

Right! onto what you came here for – some crafting – Golly I am almost too excited to get this post done!   As you know I quite like to CASE designs and this first card is definitely a CASE!

Build a Bossom Citrus

I was inspired to this card and the next by this website by Jenny Moors – these are her designs and you can go and purchase a PDF set of instructions from her for a reasonable amount of money and make your own fantastic card designs – just like these! I love the fresh feel of them and the beautiful colours: So Saffron, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzaz and Early Esspresso – Could it get any fresher? The centre piece is stamped in Pear Pizzazz then costed liberally in Glossy accents and sprinkled with my favourite ‘tool’ – Glamour Dust! It shines so beautifully, will I ever groom out of needing that glitz?

Build a Blossom Citrus

This card is from the same set but features a little more of the gorgeous Pear Pizzazz, I simply love the Regal Rose petals on this, I curved them with my bone folder to really make them sit up , the bottom layer curl inwards and the top layer curl out and combined with the dotty layer beneath – this is a real 3D card!

And finally, a card inspired by my cousin who lives out in Australia – her daughter is getting married next year and Sharon – my cousin – asked me to send her a stamp from our Mini catalogue as ours is different to the Australian one.  The stamp is a couple on a bicycle and has a very weddingy feel to it.  When she first asked me I was terribly perplexed as I hadn’t seen this stamp in the Mini and couldn’t actually find it at first! then I did and as soon as I saw it I wanted it – I think it is simply delightful and has so many potential applications – I love it!  So Sharon, thank you for pointing this out to me, yours is on its way to you!

Cycling to a new life..

The card is made using Shimmery white, Basic Black and Melon Mambo and the stamp set is Always Elegant, Wedding Wheels, the embellishments are pearls and Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon.

Okay, I think that’s me – I am trying to make these posts a little shorter and I have a couple to pre make ready for when I am away on my holidays – I write them now and the self post in my absence – Cool Eh? So till next time – remember to stamp your place on the world!  xxx

Hello and Welcome…. Did you know?…. Obsession…and of course some Crafting!

Hello! and Welcome! to all the lovely people who have visited my blog and who have subscribed to it – I hope you know what you have let yourself in for. My blog tends towards waffle and rarely stays on topic – of crafting – usually meanders through what I or my Beloved or my Delightful Boys have been up to – for good or bad! But I have read other people’s blogs and I subscribe to quite a few as well – see side panel on right for where I get my inspiration – and many of them meander, waffle and warble on about life in general too – so I am not alone!

Did you know that if you like any of the creations – whether I dreamt them up myself or whether I CASEd them (that means Copy And Share Everything or in some circles Copy And Study Everything – I do both! Usually when I have run out of MoJo and in need of inspiration!) YOU can buy the products that I have used TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY! This blog is like Asda only without the need for a shopping trolley – you don’t need to leave home to do your shopping! Just email me:, give me a list of what you are looking to buy, I will tot it up, contact you and let you know if you qualify for FREEBIES (OH YES GIRLS!), get your payment details and deliver your products to you as soon as they are in. How easy is that! So…what are you waiting for…use the links on the right hand side to view the products or contact me for your very own Ideas and Catalogue book.

Grey’s Anatomy – what is going on there? and what did Meredith think she was doing? Well, actually I have the answers – please don’t ask me, cos I am not into spoiling things for people.  I was so obsessed with what is going on that I had to download the final two episodes from iTunes and watch them!  and now I need to know what is going to happen with House and Cuddy, Chase and 13, and Taub and the daft nurse! For goodness sake – how did I get so obsessed? Clearly I just don’t have enough going on in my life cos I have also latched on to Hot in Seattle, if only for Betty White’s one liners – she is so funny! I can’t believe the thin girl from Manchester that is in it does such a dreadful British accent mind!                                                                               And finally, what you have all been waiting for – some crafting! Yippee!!!! Ok this first card is a CASE of one that I saw here by Monica Gale, as soon as I saw it I just loved it, mine is very marginally different but not significantly and I didn’t place a sentiment on it yet as I think I have a recipient for this card.

Pink Butterflies

This next card I made for my youngest son to give to his Dad on his birthday. Although we have been divorced for ten years I do still try to make an effort for my son. I will not bemoan my ex husband – it takes two to argue and fight and without him I wouldn’t have my delightful youngest son – well not in his present form anyway!

Happy Birthday Music

You are right – not much of this card is SU – The papers are Bazzill Basics, Bo Bunny’s Timepieces, SU Very Vanilla, the stamp is one from Papermania which I stamped using Rangers Walnut Stain then pulled the colour out and added some Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany for good measure. I finished the card with a few brads I had and the sentiment is SU Modern Label punch, the border and EK Success one.

Birthday Cake!

This is a half and half – half Tulip by DoCrafts and half SU! The card blank is one I had from a set, layered with Tulip and Rich Razzleberry CS, the punch is a Martha Stewart one, the stamp is Tulip coloured in with Prismacolour pencils and finished with SU Rich Razzleberry ribbon and of course some Glamour Dust for good measure!  I made this card for my girlfriend Jennie. Both my boys had a massive crush on Jennie when they were much younger – in fact my youngest had a crush on her from being about two and half and called her ‘Jennie-my-girlfriend’ until he was about eight! Happy Birthday Honey – I still miss chatting with you every day!

Finally something a little different but none the less delightful.

Believe in Old Olive

Another CASE from here this time and the delightful Lori Mueller. I am hoping to have a tutorial for you all from Lori in the near future – I know she is busy writing it as we speak! Good luck Lori and remember to get some rest between spinning all those plates! Lori had CASEd this card also from Diane Gilbert here so I don’t feel too bad about CASEing it myself!   What I loved about this card was the way the flowers were made – Lori explains fully how she made them and I just followed her instructions! I didn’t have the Pear Pizzaz so I used Old Olive instead but I don’t think it made too much of a difference.  I passed the flowers through my crimper about four times and was very surprised how easily the fibres parted. Give it a go  – it makes a lovely soft finish!

Ok, so not too much more to say tonight  – my next task is to update some of the other pages.  I am still doing the Paleo (1 stone and counting!!!) but have been unable to start the Cardio Challenge – the weather up here on the West Coast of Scotland has been abysmal and when its not been abysmal it’s been raining!  If you live up here you will recognise the difference! I will keep you posted of when I get started…

So till next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

I had the time of my life….Stamp Club….Cardio Challenge and what comes next?

Oh My, Oh My!  what a great time we had yesterday! It was the start of theSimply Stamping classes and what a start! I drove there quite early to get set up and ensure I was there to great my ladies coming in. Just after half past nine the heavens opened and it started to rain! (it actually only stopped sometime early this morning!) The sky turned that rather nasty iron colour and just let the rain fall down in sheets. I thought ‘No one is going to come out in this weather for anything’. And then the ladies started to arrive. In ones and two’s. And they were looking as terrified as I felt. But golly! they were lovely to me.  If they knew I was terrified they never let on and laughed at my – very, very – small jokes as well! Here are a couple of pics – they all asked to photographed on their ‘good’ side – I hope I got it right!

Simply Stamping Girls

They all look very industrious don’t they!

Simply Stamping Girls - The Moon and Gold Girls

These girls have such lovely names I just couldn’t resist giving them a new moniker – Tracey and Gillian – thank you so much for your lovely comments on the blog and I can’t wait till next week either!

Simply Stamping Girls

I was chuffed to bits that every one was happy to get up and walk about – I have been to classes where I dare not move from my seat! This first class was pretty informal and designed to get everyone chatting together, moving around and comfortable working around others. A bit of a free for all really. Next week it all starts to get tougher! We will incorporate what we learned this week and add a couple of steps to it!  Great fun!  My second group of girls was a little smaller – only four turned up but I suspect the weather had an awful lot to do with it. Whilst these girls were totally different in personality as a group, they were still lots of fun to be around!  I don’t craft WITH anyone and it is something I really miss – when you craft together you tend to bounce ideas around and amazing things get made! Thats what happened with both of these groups – It was honestly a pleasure to be there! I am really looking forward to my last ‘first’ class on tuesday and really looking forward to class two starting saturday. If you haven’t booked your place then its time to give me a call or drop me an email!

STAMP CLUB – what do you think to that idea?  How will that work? and of course a billion other questions.  It’s simple really – you opt in to my Stampers Six group – there are six people in it and you each commit to spending £25.00 per month for six months. What do you get?  Well first off you will get a FREE copy of the Stampin’ UP Idea’s and Catalogue book, then when it’s your turn to be Hostess you get to choose your favourite stamp set right from the Idea’s and Catalogue Hostess Pages. AND on top of all that you also get to choose FREEBIES up to £15.00 on the month that you are Hostess! Cool eh?! What do you need to do to get into the club? Give me a call or an email and we will get you rolling towards your fantastic FREEBIES and HOSTESS Stamp Set.

Cardio Challenge starts tomorrow – thank the Lord it’s my feet that will be doing it and not my hands! I am not sure that I could manage to go too long without crafting!  So what I have to do is complete 40k – Yep! I did say 40k – each week for six weeks! Am I scared – you bet I am! At fifty years of age things don’t work quite as easily as they did when I was thirty or even forty and running on a regular basis! I am knocking back the Glucosamine and Chondroitin to get my bones and ligaments ready and am praying to God that the rain stops soon! All I need to do now is get those running shoes on….

It was my friend Sam’s birthday this week. Sam is my pal from work and a very cool and trendy person – I wanted to make her a card that reflected her personality and then I remembered this stamp set that I hadn’t used yet – A Flower for All Seasons and I thought Sam deserved to get lots of flowers and all seasons flowers are just about a reflection of her – she never changes and is always so lovely no matter what is happening! Happy Birthday to you Sam!

Happy Birthday Sam!

So what comes next?  Hmm….well I have just booked my place at the Stampin’ Up Convention in Paris in November where I am hoping to meet lots of other Stampin’ Up girls, learn about the fantastic Christmas Stamps coming up and get some tips and tricks for some new techniques, designs and ideas to pass on to you girls.  I am quite excited about it and no doubts as it gets closer you will hear me going on about it quite a lot! Next week my Simply Stamping girls are going to be doing the Rock and Roll technique and the Two Step stamping technique – sounds like we ought to be having our dancing shoes on!

Time to go I am afraid but till next time – remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
